Services
For Seniors
Image
Seniors are valued and active members of the community in Southern Labrador, involved in many community groups and activities. Our seniors often organize and assist in many community activities and events. They also use every opportunity to get out and participate in community suppers, card games, arts and crafts, or bingo. Our seniors stay active by enjoying the region's outdoors for walking, snowmobiling, ice-fishing, and berry-picking. Local communities recognize the contributions of our seniors with special seniors' events, community suppers, and volunteer recognition programs. Volunteer opportunities for seniors are always available through the Women's Institute, church groups, and many community organizations in the region.

There are special services and housing available for seniors in the region. These services include: home care, seniors apartments, assisted living accommodations, and a chronic care facility. In the Labrador Straits, a Senior's Bus is operated by the Labrador South Health Centre for senior's outings. A full listing of facilities and programs is provided below.
